Treehab in the News!
Riley has been super busy lately, not only building our beautiful tiny homes but he’s been popping up all over the news talking about Tiny Houses as an alternative housing option during the current cost of living crisis.
There are numerous options for reducing the cost of housing, including land renting for your tiny, sharing land with friends or investing in land to build while living in your tiny home that can then be used for short-term rental income.
Several options exist for finding land to park your tiny home. Let's explore the possibilities!
Caravan Parks: Some caravan parks offer spaces for tiny houses, providing amenities such as water, electricity, and waste disposal. They often have communal facilities like showers, laundry rooms, and recreational areas.
Backyard Rentals: Some homeowners rent out their backyard spaces to tiny house owners. Websites and platforms dedicated to connecting homeowners and tiny house dwellers make it easier to find such opportunities. Backyard rentals can offer a sense of community and may come with access to shared facilities.
Tiny House Communities: There are dedicated communities designed specifically for tiny houses, often featuring shared amenities, communal spaces, and a supportive community of like-minded individuals. These communities promote a minimalist and sustainable lifestyle.
Co-ops and Intentional Communities: Cooperative housing and intentional communities are places where people come together to live collectively. Some of these communities embrace the concept of tiny houses, allowing residents to park their homes within the community while sharing resources, responsibilities, and decision-making.
Private Landowners: In some areas, private landowners may offer spaces for tiny house parking for a fee. Websites and platforms that connect landowners and tiny house owners can help facilitate these arrangements. Private land options often provide more flexibility and privacy.
Farms: Some farmers may have extra land and welcome tiny house dwellers. These arrangements can offer a unique experience, allowing residents to enjoy a rural lifestyle and potentially participate in farm activities.
Small-Scale Housing Developments: Small-scale housing developments are increasingly designed with tiny houses in mind. These communities often provide infrastructure and utilities suitable for tiny houses and encourage sustainable and affordable living.
